Vivek Venkataswamy, son of former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Gaddam Venkataswamy, started his political career as Peddapalli MP. He worked in Congress, BRS, and BJP, and then rejoined Congress.  He won as an MLA from Chennur and finally secured a ministerial berth.  Recent political developments have led to speculations as to whether he will get a post or not.

Although there was some publicity that the high command would give the post in the first phase, it was not possible due to the mobilizations.  Although he did not get the post in the past, he got the approval of the high command through social mobilizations and political perseverance and won his bet.  On the other hand, his brother Vinod and Mancherial MLA Premsagar Rao made efforts from the district.  However, the high command finalized Vivek’s name after taking into account various social and political aspects.

Srihari, who represents the Maktal constituency on the border with Karnataka, has a good relationship with AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.  Srihari has a reputation for adhering to the principles of the Congress party from the beginning.  He has experience of working as a sarpanch, MPTC and ZPTC member.  He also took charge as the Narayanpet district Congress president.

Former AICC president and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was successfully launched in Maktal constituency and received praise.  Party leaders believe that the ministership of Vakiti, who belongs to the Mudiraj community, which has the largest BC population in the state, will be good for the Congress in the upcoming local body elections.  With all this coming together for Srihari, there is talk in Gandhi Bhavan circles that his name has been confirmed.  If there are no obstacles, Srihari will be the first to win as an MLA and become a minister.
