WATCH | Vikarabad Collector Attacked By Farmers

Kosgi, Kodangal/Hyderabad, Nov 11 (Maxim News): Officials are working to acquire three thousand acres to set up a pharma village in three villages of Laggicharla, Polepalli, and Heekampeta in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s illaka of Kodangal constituency of Vikarabad district.

As the authorities are ready to conduct a public opinion poll first in Laggicharla village, this has turned into a tense situation in the district.  A woman farmer attacked Collector Prateek Jain.  A lap on the collector’s shoulder from behind created a commotion.  Farmers protest against  Pharma village.  Stones were pelted on the cars of the collectors and officials.  Three vehicles were destroyed in the farmer’s attack.

Officials are working to acquire three thousand acres to set up a pharma village in three villages of Laggicharla, Polepalli, and Heekampeta in the Kodangal constituency of Vikarabad district.  In this background, many farmers gave their lands voluntarily, but the authorities are ready to conduct a public opinion poll first in Laggicharla village.

Officials tried to organize a temporary sabha two kilometers away from the village.  However, farmers and villagers expressed strong objections due to being far away from the village. 

In this order, district collector Prateek Jain, revenue officials, and police came to the village and tried to gather public opinion.  In the meantime, anxiety started.  In this sequence, a woman came from behind collector Prateek Jain and hit him on the shoulder.  With this, he stepped forward.  In this order, the situation there became tense. An argument took place between the villagers and the officials.  The villagers raised their concerns.  Three cars belonging to the officers were destroyed.  Immediately alerted, the police rescued the district collector from the clutches of the villagers and shifted him to a safe place,  The tension continues now.

The government has decided to set up a Pharma SEZ in Vikarabad.  But the farmers are worried that with the establishment of Pharma SEZ, they will lose the essence of their land.  There is a fear among the farmers that if the pharma SEZ is set up if the pollution increases, they will lose everything along with the land.  But to remove the fear of the people, the authorities have conducted a public opinion poll today.  There was tension in this order.
