Water Heater Exploded: Major Accident Narrowly Averted
Hyderabad, Dec 20 (Maxim News): A major fire accident took place today (Saturday) in Vaddera Basti under Nallakunta police station limits in the city. However, a major accident was narrowly averted in this incident due to the vigilance of the police. Although the accident faced by a family could have turned fatal in a matter of moments, seven family members escaped safely due to the timely action taken by the police.
According to the police, a family member forgot to turn on the water heater on the first floor of a house in Vaddera Basti. After some time, the heater reached a high temperature and suddenly exploded. The explosion caused a fire that spread throughout the first floor. The explosion also damaged electronic items in the house. The situation became extremely dangerous as appliances like TV and fridge caught fire.
Seven family members were living on the third floor of this house. They faced great difficulty in getting out as the fire spread rapidly. The family members, trapped in the smoke-filled house, screamed in fear and the locals immediately informed the police. As soon as the information was received, the Nallakunta police reached the spot without any delay.
Noticing the seriousness of the situation, the police immediately took up rescue operations. Due to the fire, the staircase could not even be used. The police brought down the family members on the upper floor with the help of ropes. They carefully lowered each one and brought out all seven family members safely. Locals praised the police for their bravery and alertness in this incident.
Although the fire caused extensive damage to the electronic equipment in the house, it was a relief to everyone that there were no casualties. Locals also cooperated until the police brought the situation under control. Later, the fire brigade completely controlled the fire.
Responding to the incident, the police advised that precautions should be taken while using water heaters, geysers, and other electronic devices. They said that they should not leave them on when not needed. They warned against using old electronic devices. The police said that this incident has once again proven that even a small negligence can lead to a big accident. (Maxim News)
