Water Released To Singur Canals After Crop Holiday For Two Seasons
Sangareddy/Hyderabad, July 17 (Maxim News): After two seasons of crop holiday for ayacut under Singur canals, Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha released 100 cusecs of water into the Singur Left Bank Canal on Thursday.
Since the Irrigation Department took up lining works on Singur canals during the last year, the government declared crop holidays for two consecutive seasons.
The project had 18.464 TMCft of water against its full capacity of 29.91 TMCft as of now. The reservoir irrigates 40,000 acres of ayacut. The release of water will boost paddy transplantations across the district. (Maxim News)
