Water Supply Suspended In Hyderabad On Feb 11 And 12
- Repairs on PSC pumping main to disrupt Hyderabad water supply
- Areas from Patancheru to Kukatpally affected by suspension
The water supply suspended in Hyderabad on February 11 and 12 will affect several residential and commercial areas across the city. The disruption follows major leaks detected at multiple locations on the PSC pumping main. Officials confirmed that repair works are necessary to prevent further damage and restore normal supply.
According to the information provided, major leaks occurred on the PSC pumping main from Patancheru to Hydernagar and from Kalabgur to Patancheru. Therefore, authorities decided to take up repair works on an urgent basis. The repairs will begin at 6 am on February 11 and will continue until 10 pm on February 12. During this period, officials said drinking water supply will remain suspended for two days.
Meanwhile, officials clarified that several localities will face a complete halt in water supply. These areas include RC Puram, Ashok Nagar, Jyoti Nagar, Lingampalli, Chandanagar, Gangaram, Madinaguda, Miyapur, Biranguda, Aminpur, Bhagyanagar Colony, and other surrounding locations. The suspension will also impact off take points and bulk connections linked to the affected pumping mains.
Later, officials added that central and western parts of Hyderabad will also be affected. These areas include Erragadda, SR Nagar, Ameerpet, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally, Bhagyanagar Colony, and Pragathi Nagar. As a result, residents in these localities will not receive drinking water during the repair period. Officials urged residents to note the disruption and plan accordingly.
However, officials stressed that the repair work is essential. The leaks along the PSC pumping main posed a serious risk to the water supply network. Therefore, timely repairs are being carried out to prevent larger failures in the system. Once the work is completed, water supply is expected to resume as usual.
Also, officials said the repair schedule has been fixed to ensure faster completion. Work will continue throughout the day and night until the evening of February 12. The focus remains on restoring supply safely and preventing further leaks along the pipeline.
The water supply suspended in Hyderabad on February 11 and 12 is a temporary measure. Officials reiterated that the decision was taken only due to the severity of the leaks. They assured that all efforts are being made to complete the repairs within the announced timeframe.
