“We Are Not Neutral” We Stand For Peace: Modi Clarifies With Putin
Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec 5 (Maxim News): Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is currently on a visit to India, met with Indian Prime Minister Modi today. The Russian President participated in the bilateral summit with Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House in Delhi (Modi-Putin Bilateral Meet).
Speaking on the occasion, Putin praised Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to establish peace between Ukraine and Russia. Prime Minister Modi responded by saying that India is not neutral and that they are in favor of peace and prosperity. Prime Minister Modi praised Putin for sharing the situation with him like a true friend since the beginning of the Ukraine crisis. He commented that this trust is the real strength. He said that countries will progress only through establishing peace. He said that India and Russia will lead the world on the path of peace together. He said that he is confident that the world will return to peace with the efforts made so far.
Prime Minister Modi also praised the vision behind the India-Russia diplomatic relations as great. He expressed hope that the world will overcome the challenges it is facing at present. He called on India and Russia to set a goal of reaching greater heights together. The two countries will also sign several agreements in this meeting.
Earlier, President Putin was accorded a grand welcome by President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Later, the three services of India presented a guard of honour to the Russian President. After that, Putin reached Rajghat and paid tributes at the memorial of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. (Maxim News)
