We Will Pass A Resolution In Assembly On Vizag Plant: AP CM Jagan
Visakhapatnam, Feb.17 (Maxim News): AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today announced that they would pass a resolution in AP Assembly in the upcoming budget session against the decision of the central government to privatize the historic Vizag Steel Plant if there was no review by the center on its decision.
He reminded that he had already written a letter on the issue to the prime minister Narendra Modi. He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of the workers union leaders of the plant. Jagan spoke to the union leaders for more than hour. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he would hold a review meeting on the agreement entered by the plant with OSMDC. He also made it clear that Posco Company would not come to the Vizag steel plant Citing that the representatives of Posco had met him, he said that h he had asked the representatives to set up their steel plant either in Kadapa or Srikakulam districts. He said that he was hopeful that there would be a change in the stand of the central government.
The CM said that the state have iron ore reserves of very low quality. He said that he had urged the center to allot own mines to the plant in Odisha. He said that the burden of interests would come down on the center if the loans were converted into equities. The CM made it clear that the state government had no powers over the Vizag steel plantwhile not in that it was Central Government Company. (Maxim News)
