In the case of Tamil Nadu government vs Governor, on April 8, it ordered the President and the Governors to pass the bills within the deadline. However, India’s first citizen Droupadi Murmu has strongly condemned the recent decision of the Supreme Court. She asked the Supreme Court how these orders are valid under the Constitution and asked 14 questions.

In the Tamil Nadu Government vs Governor case, the Supreme Court on April 8 ruled that the President and the Governor must take a decision on state bills within 3 month. It may be clear that either they should pass them within the deadline or send them back. It said that if the bills are not passed, the reasons should be clearly stated.

If this continues to happen after this verdict, the Supreme Court can be approached, and the Supreme Court has full power to judicially review the inaction of the governors under Article 142 of the Constitution, the bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R.Mahadevan said. However, President Droupadi Murmu reacted strongly to the Supreme Court’s imposition of such a time limit. (Maxim News)
