Three persons were arrested in Telangana’s Mancherial district for allegedly hunting a wild boar and consuming its meat. The incident took place at Thotraposhamgudem village in Dandepally mandal. Forest officials acted after receiving specific information about the illegal activity. The arrests were made on Monday, according to officials.
The Tadlapet Forest Range Officer confirmed the action in an official statement. Officer Sushma Rao said forest staff conducted a search operation following a tip off. During the search, officials found evidence linked to the hunting of a wild boar. The accused allegedly hunted the animal, cooked the meat, and consumed it. Therefore, officials moved quickly to detain those involved.
Meanwhile, the arrested persons were identified as Gaddam Bheemaiah, Thatra Bheemaiah, and Kothapalli Posham. All three are residents of Thotraposhamgudem village. Forest officials stated that the men were apprehended during the operation conducted in the village area. The case was registered based on the findings during the search.
Later, officials produced the accused before the appropriate authority. They were sent to 14 day judicial remand. Forest department sources said the action followed established legal procedures. The department reiterated its stand against wildlife hunting and consumption. However, officials did not share further details about the investigation at this stage.
Also, the arrests highlighted the role of local intelligence in detecting wildlife related offences. The tip off helped officials act without delay. Forest staff coordinated during the search and ensured the suspects were taken into custody. The case now remains under the legal process as directed by the authorities.
