Guntur, Sept.27 (Maxim News): The State government has announced that it would develop Kondaveedu fort from the district into a famous tourism spot. The state home minister Mekathoti Sucharita has announced that the fort was the symbol of the valiance and glory of the Reddy rulers of the state. She ssaid that they would take all steps to protect the heritage of the state. She made these remarks while addressing Konda veedu development meeting at Ramannapeta.
The meeting was held by Kondaveedu heritage society and was chaired by the state chairman of the anti-liquor publicity committee P. Laxmana Reddy. The meeting was started after paying tributes to singer SP Balasubramanyam. The Home Minister has also released a book entitled Kondaveedu Charitra Vyasalu (Kondaveedu History-Essays written by noted Telugu teacher Dr. Modugula Ravi Krishna. Speaking on the occasion, she said that the Kondaveedu fort was renowned as a great fort to fight against the enemy and detained them.
She said that she had grown up watching the fort and added that route that would lead to the fort was in bad shape during her childhood days. She said that the chief minister of the state YS Jaganmohahn Reddy had come up with grand plans to develop the fort as soon as he became the CM of the state. She said that the development works of the fort would be intensified after the Covid 19 virus threat was over. The chairman of the committee Shiva reddy brought the issue of the narrow road between firangipuram and kondaveedu fort and added that she would take steps for the expansion of road between ameenabad and the fort She said that their main goal was to ensure that the future generations would receive the rich history and heritage of the fort from them.
