Woman Arrested For Giving Death Threat To UP CM Yogi Adityanath

New Delhi: A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly issuing a death threat to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, according to Mumbai Police. The message claimed that if Adityanath did not resign in 10 days, he would be killed like Baba Siddique.

The threat was sent to the Mumbai Police Traffic Control Room from an unknown number. The woman, Fatima Khan, who has a B.Sc in Information Technology, was arrested from Ulhasnagar in Thane district, Maharashtra. She resides there with her family, and her father is involved in the timber business.

On Saturday, the Mumbai traffic police received a threatening message on their WhatsApp number. The message stated that if Adityanath did not resign within 10 days, he would be killed, similar to how NCP leader Baba Siddique was killed, the official said.

Investigations led the police to identify Khan as the sender of the message. The Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), along with Ulhasnagar police, conducted a joint operation to apprehend her.

The police informed that Khan is qualified but mentally unstable. They are continuing their investigation into the matter.

The alert comes as Adityanath is expected to visit Maharashtra to campaign for the upcoming state assembly polls on November 20, officials added.

Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, was shot dead in Bandra, Mumbai, on October 12.
