Woman Drives Car on Railway Tracks in Rangareddy, Halts Trains for 2 Hours; Taken into Custody
Woman Drives Car | Chevella, June 26: A young woman caused major disruption on the railway tracks in Rangareddy district after driving her car for nearly 7 kilometers along the Nagulapalli–Shankarpally railway route, halting train operations and endangering lives.
The woman, identified as Ravika Soni, a former software engineer from Lucknow, reportedly drove her car directly onto the tracks, causing panic among locals and railway staff. Witnesses say she threatened residents who tried to stop her with a knife, escalating the situation further.
The loco pilot of a train approaching the same route noticed the vehicle in time and managed to bring the train to a halt, preventing a possible tragedy. Despite repeated attempts by locals to block her, Ravika was only caught after much struggle. Her actions led to a complete disruption of train services for nearly two hours, affecting passengers and schedules.

According to initial reports, Ravika may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and mental health concerns are also being considered. She is said to have recently lost her job and may have committed the act to film social media reels, though this angle is still under investigation.
Police from Shankarpally station reached the spot and took her into custody. She has since been shifted to Chevella Government Hospital for medical examination and evaluation.
Authorities are continuing their probe into the incident, examining how she gained access to the tracks and assessing any lapses in railway security.
