Workshop on Research Methodology concludes at MANUU

Hyderabad: Research work demands focus of the researcher. Research Methodology is only one aspect of research, which shows us the better way to place our argument. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) expressed the views today in the concluding session of a week long workshop on “Research Methodology”. The workshop, started on June 13, 2022, was organized by Department of Sociology, MANUU.

Continuing his speech, Prof. Ainul Hasan said that some components of research methodology should be taught at masters levels also and under National Education Policy there is a room for it. Talking about Plagiarism, he said it is not just copying a text, sentence or information but Plagiarism is also copying the idea. Don’t copy ideas, rather create ideas and see the result. He also advised students and research scholars to make public whatever research work they are doing and to publish a paper before submission.

Earlier, Prof. P.H. Mohammad, Head, Department of Sociology while delivering the welcome address said that the workshop is all about finding out the solution for human variability. There was a quest, enthusiasm for understanding it. There were expeditions to understand different cultures, traditions, manners, languages and following that between 15th to 19th century lots of activities were carried out in this regard, he added.

Dr. K M Ziyaudin, coordinator workshop spoke about the details of research methodology, its advantages and said that doing research work on minorities, dalits and excluded communities have always been a challenging task for all students and researchers.

Dr. Saheed Meo, Assistant Professor proposed vote of thanks. Osama Akram, MA Sociology, convened the programme.

The participants also shared their views, experiences about the workshop and also gave some suggestions.

The speaker of the concluding session, Prof. Nagaraju Gundemeda, Department Sociology, University of Hyderabad spoke online on the topic “Understanding Sampling”.

Prof. Sharmistha Bhattacharjee, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, GoI, Prof. Md. Shahid Raza, Head, Department of Social Work, MANUU, Prof. Sanghamitra S. Acharya, CSMCH/SSS, JNU, Prof. Zakaria Siddiqui, Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation, Thiruvananthapuram, Dr. Saroj Kumar Dhal, Department of Sociology, University of Lucknow were the online/offline resource persons of different sessions of the workshop.

Centre for Professional Development of Urdu Medium Teachers (CPDUMT), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is organizing one day orientation program “21st Century Skills for Teachers”on on June 22 at it’s College of Teacher Education, Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
