Hyderabad: The Yadadri Bhongir Incident shocked residents after a woman allegedly killed her daughter and attempted to kill her son before trying to commit suicide in Tukkapuram village of Yadadri Bhongir district.
According to reports, the woman was identified as Ratnakala. She is the wife of Jainapally’s former Sarpanch B Narender Reddy. Authorities said the reasons behind the incident are yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, the tragic event has raised concern among villagers and local residents.
Reports stated that Ratnakala first attacked her daughter Keerthana Reddy, aged 14. She allegedly slit the throat of the girl inside the house. As a result, the teenager died in the incident. The sudden attack stunned the family and nearby residents.
Daughter killed in Yadadri Bhongir village incident
According to reports, after attacking her daughter, Ratnakala then attempted to kill her son Ashanth Reddy in a similar manner. However, the boy managed to escape from the attack. He then raised an alarm and called for help from nearby villagers.
Meanwhile, his cries quickly drew the attention of people living close to the house. The boy’s desperate screams alerted several villagers, who rushed to the scene to check the situation. Their arrival helped prevent further harm to the child.
Villagers rescue boy after suicide attempt
As Ashanth Reddy continued to shout for help, Ratnakala allegedly tried to end her life. Reports said she attempted to commit suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of the house.
However, villagers who rushed to the house managed to rescue the boy in time. Their intervention helped save him from further danger during the incident.
Meanwhile, Ratnakala was reported to be in a critical condition following the suicide attempt. According to reports, authorities shifted her to Hyderabad for medical treatment.
The incident took place in Tukkapuram village in Yadadri Bhongir district. Reports also said the former Sarpanch’s wife had arrived in the village on Saturday. She had come to visit her parents’ house from her in laws’ residence in Jainapally.
However, the exact reasons behind the incident remain unclear. Authorities are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the case.
