Yellandu Ex-MLA Abbaiah Passes Away

Yellandu/Hyderabad, Nov 24 (Maxim News): Yellandu former MLA Ooke Abbaiah (70) passed away. He was suffering from health problems for some time and breathed his last today (Sunday) morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad.

Abbaiah from Hanumatula Padu village of Yellandu mandal worked in the CPI party for a long time and was first elected as Sudimalla Sarpanch. After that, Abbaiah rose through the ranks and contested Yellandu on behalf of the CPI and won twice. After that, as important changes took place in the politics of the state, he joined the Telugu Desam Party and won as MLA from Yellandu.

Later he joined BRS and contested as an MLA and lost. In 2018, he contested as an independent candidate after not getting a ticket. He won as MLA from Burgampadu constituency in 1983 and from Yellan in 1994 and 2009.

MLA Koram Kanakaiah, former MLAs Haripriya Naik, and Gummadi Narasaiah, leaders of CPI, CPM, BRS, BJP, Congress, and left expressed their condolences over the death of Abbayya, who had long political experience.  Abbayya’s family members and followers were deeply saddened by his death.  (Maxim News)
