- Young woman wore uniform and did security duty without police job
- Jeedimetla police act after Madhapur SOT alert on fake police claim
A young woman who failed to secure a police job misled people by claiming to be a police officer, according to officials. She wore a uniform and performed security duty at different places without raising suspicion. The police later learned about her actions and registered a case. The incident has drawn attention to the risks of false claims and unauthorised use of police uniforms.
The young woman, aged 22, is from Shahpurnagar. She had applied for a police job but did not get selected. However, she wanted others to believe that she was a police officer. Therefore, she decided to wear a police uniform and move freely in public places. She also took part in duties at several locations while presenting herself as an officer.
Meanwhile, officials said she even worked as security personnel at Khairatabad Ganapathi this year. She reportedly performed duty there for ten days. Her activities did not raise suspicion at the time. However, the Madhapur SOT police later came to know about her actions. They immediately informed the Jeedimetla police and asked them to look into the matter.
Later, the Jeedimetla inspector investigated the case. After verifying the details, officials registered a case against the young woman. They said the act of wearing a police uniform without authorisation is a serious offence. They added that such acts mislead the public and weaken trust in law enforcement. The police have not shared further details yet. However, they stressed that action was taken based on the information received.
The incident highlights how unauthorised use of a uniform can create safety concerns. It also shows how easily such acts can go unnoticed without strict checks. Officials said awareness and timely reporting help prevent similar cases.
