Youth Killed By His Friend in a Drunken Brawl

Hyderabad: In a drunken brawl, a 22-year-old man was brutally murdered by his friend at Dasaram Basti, SR Nagar on Tuesday.

According to police, the victim, identified as P Tarun, along with his friend Mohd Shareef (25), a history-sheeter consumed liquor at a wine shop in the same neighborhood, when the incident occurred late on Monday night.

The police said, following a heated argument between the friends over an unknown matter, Shareef along with his two other friends pushed Tarun to the ground and attacked him with stones.

“After Tarun suffered injuries the attackers fled the spot. The victim was rushed to Gandhi hospital, where he was declared dead,” said a police official at SR Nagar.

Tarun, a resident of Bapunagar, and Shareef, a resident of SR Nagar, were friends and often had liquor parties. The SR Nagar police suspect a previous enmity over financial disputes might have been the reason behind the murder.

Police visited the crime scene collected the blood-stained stones and the victim’s clothing as evidence and sent them for examination to the forensic science laboratory. It is learned that based on Tarun’s dying declaration and statements from eyewitnesses, two suspects have been taken for questioning.
