Youth Should Actively Participate In The Fight Against Drugs: IPS Sandeep

To create awareness of drug abuse and prevention, the Rachakonda Security Council in collaboration with the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, today organized the Anti-Drug Abuse Conference – 2024 at BITS Pilani Campus, Hyderabad. Posters of drug awareness guidelines were unveiled in the program.

Director of Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) Sandeep Sandilya IPS, who was the chief guest of the program on this occasion, explained the ill effects of drug use on society, especially on the youth. He explained how intelligent students are ruining their education and future by using drugs and other banned psychotropic substances.

He assured that the state government is committed to eradicating all forms of drug abuse. He advised the police to take the fight against drugs as a social responsibility and everyone should participate in the social movement to achieve the goal of a drug-free society. He said that 90 pubs were inspected before the New Year to prevent any untoward incidents during the New Year celebrations in the city.

He stated that drugs are deadly, their use leads to loss of brain control and leads to many mishaps in life. He added that if you use drugs, you get excited first and then get used to it, and it degrades to the point where you can’t live without it. It is stated that if the body gets used to intoxicating substances once, they should be avoided and the lives of those who become addicted to drugs will become miserable.

Rachakonda CP Mr. Sudhir Babu IPS while addressing.. asked the students not to use drugs even once in their life. He assured the students that awareness programs will be conducted in all the colleges and hostels. At the same time, we will take strict measures to destroy the entire drug chain from dealers, and drug suppliers to consumers. Rachakonda police said that since the beginning of the year till now, a total of 12 PD cases have been registered and drugs and other prohibited psychotropic substances worth about 5 crores have been seized. The students were advised to file a complaint with the police if they identify the drug sellers and users and that information will be useful to break the supply chain. He said that the youth should note that the drug dealers do not use them and only sell drugs to the youth.

The CP emphasized the need for more awareness programs against drug abuse and the use of other prohibited drugs. CP advised the youth to stay away from drugs. It is stated that due to the use of drugs, their precious physical and mental health is destroyed in many ways. CP suggested that the youth should actively participate in drug awareness programs and become partners in creating a drug-free society. CP appreciated the efforts of the Rachakonda Security Council in the fight against drugs. He mentioned that Rachakonda Commissionerate along with RKSC has organized many awareness programs against drug abuse in many engineering colleges. The CP stated that there is a need to form special student unions in every college to fight the drug epidemic and bring awareness among fellow students.

On this occasion, CP Cyberabad Mr. Avinash Mahanty IPS said that drug addiction is very bad and students should stay away from it. Mohanty explained that many executives and other successful people faced many hurdles to achieve anything in their lives. Mahathir was referring to the recent Bollywood film 12th Fail, which is based on the inspirational success story of IPS officer Manoj Sharma, his batchmate during his IPS training. He reiterated that living a healthy life and practicing healthy habits play a very important role in achieving success.
