125 ft Ambedkar at Hussain Sagar in 15 months: Eshwar
Hyderabad, Sept.9 (Maxim News): SC Welfare Minister, Koppula Eshwar today said that the government will erect a 125 ft tall Ambedkar statue near Hussain Sagar in the city. The government has finalized the tenders for the purpose.
The State Government has allotted Rs 100 crore for this project to see that the biggest Ambedkar statue is to be installed in the heart of Hyderabad. The statue and related structures to be coming up will explain about the greatness of Ambedkar and the constitution of India he wrote, the Minister stated.
He informed that the tenders for the installation of Ambedkar Statue at the lake side. In about one year or 15 months the statue of Ambedkar will be installed, the minister said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed to complete the project at the earliest he said.
The Minister with officials has made a visit to the site wherein the statue of constitution architect will be installed.
He further stated that as planned by the government the statue of Ambedkar with a 50 ft tall base of Parliament will be coming up. The statue was planned to be at 125 ft height to be coming up on the basement building of the 50 ft parliament structure.
He directed the officials coordinate to set up the statue in time. We planned to complete the works of the same in one year or 15 months, he added. (Maxim News)
