Hyderabad: Sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force North Zone arrested 13 persons for possessing demonetized currency notes of Rs 1000 and 500 illegally. The accused were illegally trying to exchange the demonetized currency notes into valid currency on commission basis with agents near Hockey Ground, Rasoolpura, Begumpet, Secunderabad. The sleuths seized old currency of Rs 1.85 crore, two cars, 13 Cell phones from their possession.
The accused were identified as Kamal Kabra of Begum Bazar, Khanhaiyalal Agarwal of Ramkoti, Vishal Kumar of Himayath Nagar, Deepak Agarwal of Barkatpura, T. Narender Agarwal of Vijay Nagar colony, Humayun Nagar, Y. Ajay Kumar of Jubilee Hills, Mohd. Mazar of Kandigalgate, Chatrinaka, Rajendar Agarwal of Ghansi Bazar, Mohd Khamruddin of Padmavathi Nagar, Borabanda, M. Raja Rao of Panjagutta, Mohd.Waseem of Qutbullapur, R. Praveen Raju of Chanda Nagar, N. Raju of Raj Bora Banda, Sanath Nagar.
Police said all the accused hatched a plan to exchange demonetized currency notes through agents on commission basis. Accordingly, on Sunday, the accused gathered near Hockey Ground, Rasoolpura, Begumpet, Secunderabad. along with old currency and they were trying to exchange the demonetized old currency through agents. Meanwhile, police apprehended all the accused along with demonetize notes in denomination Rs 1000 and Rs 500.
The accused along with the seized property were handed over to Begumpet PS.
