Hyderabad, June 3 (Maxim News): Onion imports have increased to an unprecedented level in the state. It is natural for onions to be imported from neighboring states Maharashtra and Karnataka during the harvest season in April and may.
However, this time, onion imports are also happening in June. Officials said that q141 lorries of onions were imported to Malakpet Ganj, the main market in Hyderabad on Monday alone.
However, it is noteworthy that 105 lorries of onions were imported from Maharashtra alone. Nearly 43 thousand bags of onions have reached the city from various states.
The price of this imported onion is Rs. 1500 to Rs. 1800 per quintal. However, consumers are expressing their concern that they are having to buy it at double the price in the open market. (Maxim News)
