Police seized Rs 2 crore worth of cannabis at Mothugudem in Chintoor area of East Godavari district. Chintoor ASP Krishnakanth told reporters on Wednesday.
“While on his way to the Motugudem police station, we seized 2000 kg of cannabis being smuggled from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad from the borders of Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts.
Along with the cannabis, we seized a van, a car, three mobile phones and Rs 2,000 cash.
ASP Krishnakant said that Kadiyam Gurusagar, a lawyer from Kottapuram in Lingapuram zone of Khammam district in Telangana, was arrested, while Naini Rama Rao, a resident of Kurnool in Chittoor zone of Malkangiri district in Odisha, was arrested. CI Yuvakumar and Essai Sattibabu participated.
