25 Hi-End Sparingly Used Laptops Worth Rs. 32 Lakhs Donated To Power Rural Girls Of Govt Schools

Hyderabad: The UK-based company’s Indian arm, Claranet India Private Limited, a Hyderabad-based technology services company located in My Home Twitza Raidurg, near T-Hub, donated 25 high-end sparingly used laptops worth INR 32 lakh to PURE – People for Urban and Rural Education, NGO.

A press note issued today stated that the 25 laptops include ten I-5 Dell Latitude 3420, three I-7 Dell Latitude 3420, and six Lenovo ThinkPads. The laptops are almost new pieces with full warranties with home services.

The team Claranet comprised Srujani Choudhury, HR Head India, Syed Wasay, Finance Head India and Akshay, In-Charge IT and Security, and other staff members who participated in the brief handover function. On behalf of PURE, Ms Aruna Dara accompanied by other team members graced the occasion.

The laptops through PURE will be presented to poor rural girls in government schools very soon.

Srujani Choudhury said ‘as a committed company, we take account of our social, economic, and environmental positive impact and are passionate about such CSR initiatives.

By donating used laptops, we reduce e-waste and put more effective use of laptops and it also amounts to much-required support to the local communities as well as helping them to access technology, added Syed Wasay.

Shyla Talluri thanked Claranet for their gesture. It will go a long way in the empowerment of the girl students from rural Telangana. Many companies have unused devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, or desktops in usable condition. Such devices, if donated, can be repurposed and put to good use. Such devices will enable online education for children from low-income backgrounds said Shyla
