3.8 kg Golden Bonam For Mahankali: Talasani
Hyderabad, June 18 (Maxim News): Traditional Bonalu Festivals across the State will start from July 15 and this time the State government will present Mahankali Temple at Secunderabad with a “Golden Bonam”. It was decided by the government to spend about Rs one cr for 3.80 kg Golden Bonam for the great event to be thronged by thousands of devotees.
This was stated by Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav after holding a review meeting with officials along with Excise and Prohibition Minister T Padma Rao Goud at Secretariat here. Srinivas Yadav, earlier asked the officials to ensure that the State festival of month long celebrations of Bonalu are conducted in a smooth and peaceful manner. He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has offered State festival recognition to the Bonalu and will be conducted in a grand manner.
Elaborating the arrangements the minister released the replica of 3.80 kg Golden Bonam to be presented to Goddess Ujjaini Mahankali at Secunderabad. Srinivas Yadav further informed that as part of the Bonalu all departments were instructed to discharge their duties for fair conduct of festivities. While Mahankali Bonalu will be on July 29, another key activity Rangam will be on 30. The officials were directed to make arrangements for hassle free movement of the devotees that throng in huge numbers.
As many as 145 temples in the twin cities will be illuminated with bright and attractive lights in addition to conducting cultural activities. A special shed will be erected at the temple and the officials concerned will provide basic amenities, traffic regulation, cc camera surveillance, security and parking and others. (Maxim News)
