3-Days Custody To Kavitha’s Ex-CA In The Delhi Liquor Scam

Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 8 (Maxim News):  The Rouse Avenue Court has given CBI custody to BRS MLC Kavitha, daughter of Chief Minister K.Chabndrasekhar Rao former CA Gorantla Buchibabu who was arrested in the Delhi Liquor Scam case for 3 days.

Buchibabu, who was arrested in the Delhi Liquor scam on Tuesday, was produced in court by the CBI in the afternoon and sought custody.  Advocate Pramod Kumar Dubey, who argued on his behalf, opposed custody.  He pleaded to the court that custody was not necessary as he was cooperating with the investigation of the case.  He said that Buchibabu has served the client professionally and it is not right to blame Buchibabu for just participating in a meeting.

The lawyer brought to the attention of the court that Buchibabu was not the beneficiary in the liquor scam case and money did not change hands through him.  On the other hand, the lawyer for CBI said that Buchibabu was arrested according to law and that he is seeking custody because he did not cooperate with the investigation of the case.
