3 People Arrested for Bogus Voting in Nampally

Hyderabad, December 1 (Maxim News): Habeebnagar Police, supported by DCP Task Force and South West zone teams, have apprehended three individuals intending to engage in bogus voting during the TSLA 2023 elections here on Friday.

The accused were caught removing indelible ink marks from voters using an unknown chemical.

Identified as Mohd Zakir, Mohd Shabuddin, and Ritesh Gupta, was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the R.P. Act (Cr. No. 336/2023, U/s 171(D) r/w 171(F), 419, 468, 471, 474 r/w 109 IPC).

Here are the details of the accused:

  • A-1: Mohd Zakir, 40 yrs, Car Dealer, Nampally, Hyderabad
  • A-2: Mohd Shabuddin, 28 yrs, Student, Nampally Market, Hyderabad
  • A-3: Ritesh Gupta, 38 yrs, Business, Vijay Nagar Colony, Hyderabad

The police seized the following materials:

  • 67 Duplicate voter ID Cards
  • Two Chemical Bottles (Thinner)
  • Voter list
  • Used & Un-used cotton
  • One mini slip printing machine &
  • Two paper rolls
  • Ten mini vaseline
  • Colgate Toothpaste

Nampally: Bogus Voting

The accused had planned to conduct bogus voting at a Govt High School polling station in Nampally. They acquired materials to erase indelible ink marks and identified a location under a mosque shutter for their activities. They produced fake voter ID cards of absent, deceased, and relocated individuals.

Police seized voter lists, duplicate ID cards, cotton, a chemical bottle, a slip printing machine, and paper rolls. The accused had gathered voter information and planned to engage in fraudulent voting with the help of external individuals.

Rambabu, SHO Habeebnagar PS, with support from Srinivas, Inspector Taskforce, Raja Venkat Reddy, ACP Asifnagar, and the team supervised by Smt Nitika Pant, DCP Taskforce, and B Balaswamy, DCP South West Zone, arrested the three accused individuals. (Maxim News)
