300 Kgs of Ganja seized in Hyderabad, two arrested

The Hyderabad City task force police have arrested two people for peddling ganja and seized 300 kg of contraband worth of Rs 30 lakh.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar while addressing a media meet said that the arrested persons are supplying ganja in the city and seized 300 kg of ganja from their possession.

“The vehicle transporting ganja in Musarambagh and Malakpet areas were intercepted by the task force police who found 10 bags of ganja,” Anjani Kumar said. The worth of seized ganja is estimated to be of Rs 30 lakh, he added.

He said that the task force police inspected the vehicle upon receiving an information on availability of ganja in few places in Hyderabad.

Ganja vehicle :

The accused persons Vilas Bhausaheb Dhokane, Dnyaneshwar Mohite left from Nakkapalli Cross road with transported Ganja vehicle via Annavaram- Viajayawada-Suryapet Hyderabad. On credible information october 16 at early hours near Moosarambagh Cross road, in the limits of Malakpet police station intercepted the vehicle, apprehended the accused persons, seized Ganja and also transporting vehicle, said Anjani Kumar.

During the investigation it is noticed that some of the drivers working under Ganja Smuggling agents from Zaheerabad area pilferage Ganja from Trucks and supplying to Hyderabad, he added.

The accused persons along with seized material have been hand over to SHO, Malakpet Police Station for further investigation and they were booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, he further added.

The arrest was made under the supervision of P. Radhakishan Rao(OSD), Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad by K. Nageswar Rao, Inspector of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone team & K.Srinivas, Inspector of Police, Malakpet PS with assistance of SIs K.Srikanth, B.Ashok Reddy, G.Shivanandam and North Zone Task Force Team, Hyderabad.
