500 Basti Dawakhanas Will Be Made Available By The End Of June: Harish Rao

Hyderabad, May 4 (Maxim News): Minister for Medical, Health and Family Welfare and Finance said that 350 basti dawakhanas are being set up in Hyderabad and 150 in other cities. It has been announced that a total of 500 basti dawakahans will be established across the state to alleviate the fatigue of the urban people.

The Minister has reviewed issues pertaining to Warangal Health City, TIMS hospitals, NIMS new building, dialysis services, basti dawakhanas, village dawakhanas and other issues. today, the Minister said currently 363 Basti dispensaries are providing services in the state. He said that 57 more Basti dispensaries are ready for opening. He directed the officials to start them immediately. The Minister wants to speed up the work of the rest of the dispensaries which are in the final stage. Steps should be taken to ensure that 500 Basti dispensaries are fully functional by the end of June.

For the convenience of the people, he ordered to set up boards so that everyone knows that services are being provided on Sundays as well. He said that services should be provided from 9 am to 4 pm every day.

The Minister ordered that 3,206 rural dispensaries should be fully functional by the end of this month. 321 posts required for this were ordered to be filled. Boards with time and doctors’ phone number should be displayed so that it is accessible to the public. He said that boards should be set up so that the services being provided, the tests being conducted and the wellness activities are known. The district Medical Officers have been ordered to review the performance.

Harish Rao said that the eye testing program should be continued, so far 1.31 crore people have completed eye testing in 67 working days. in 3006 wards (87 percent) and 9556 panchayats (74.72 percent), it has been completed. While 27 percent of people needed glasses, on average each team screened 120 people a day. He said 19.64 lakh people were given reading glasses and 15.30 lakh people were identified as needing prescription glasses. It is said that it has been distributed to 12 lakh people. He said that the distribution of prescription glasses should be completed soon in the districts where glasses have been distributed below the state average (95 percent) Harish Rao directed the District Medical Officer to conduct a special drive for distribution in Hyderabad.
