Hyderabad, Sept.8 (Maxim News): Urea stocks of 90,000 metric tons will be arriving Telangana State by September 12 and supplied to the farmers, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today said. “We will receive the stocks soon and supply the same to the villages and there was no need for panic”, he said. Reddy also warned that severe action will be taken if the urea was sold for additional prices and denied supply on time.
At a review meeting on urea supply stocks and arrival from other States, the minister said the State government will supply adequate stocks in a couple of days. “We have asked the neighbouring States to supply urea to our State”, he said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked other States to send stocks of Urea and we supplied 33,800 metric tons to farmers by Saturday.
He said 17,000 metric tons of urea was being received and will supply 13,000 metric tons. The stocks of urea will reach the State by September 12 and there will be no delay in distributing it among the farmers. He also warned that the dealers and businessmen will be punished seriously if they sell urea at higher price.
KCR held a review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan two days ago and asked the officials to address the problem by getting stocks from other States. (Maxim News)
