The Moga district CIA staff has seized 970 boxes of illegal liquor in a canter. According to a police release, the CIA staff on a tip-off laid a ‘naka’ between Ajitwal and Gurukul public school late last night.
After waiting for two hours, police signalled a canter to stop.However, all the six drug peddlers and occupants of the canter managed to escape under the cover of darkness leaving the canter behind.
Upon searching, the police found 970 boxes of illegal liquor boxes in the vehicle.
Investigation revealed that the accused brought the consignment of illegal liquor from Ludhiana and was en route to Moga to distribute among their permanent customers. A case has been registered at Mehna police station.
