Coronavirus: Separate Ward Set Up in MGM in Warangal
Coronavirus | Warangal/Hyderabad, April 7 (Maxim News): Coronavirus is spreading across the country. It is spreading like water under the carpet and making people panic. Corona cases are increasing in the erstwhile Warangal district.
In the last 24 hours, 40 people were tested for corona, and two of them were diagnosed positive. These two are undergoing treatment in Warangal MGM Hospital in the special ward of Covid.
Meanwhile, in the Mahabubabad district, At Girijan Residential School, Covid tests were conducted due to symptoms of cold and fever. 15 of these students have tested positive for Covid. The students are currently undergoing treatment in isolation.
As corona cases are increasing, a new ward has been set up in MGM. Along with the beds used in the first and second stages of Corona, 144 ventilators have been kept ready, and all 1200 beds in MGM Hospital have been connected to oxygen to be used for Corona treatment.
Superintendent Dr Chandrasekhar said that there is no shortage of oxygen for corona victims in MGM. At present, there are two oxygen-generation plants here that can produce a thousand liters per minute. It has been disclosed that a letter has been written to the company for repairs as one plant is currently non-functional. He said that two liquid oxygen plants with a storage capacity of 23 thousand liters are also available in the hospital.
He said that the super specialty hospital in Kakatiya Medical College currently has a liquid oxygen plant with a storage capacity of 13 thousand liters. He said that Covid test kits and necessary medicines are available. On 10th of this month, a mock drill of Covid is going to be conducted on the orders of the Central government. Some of the existing ventilators have technical problems. He said that the government has been asked to keep oxygen flow meters, small equipment bulk. He said that they are ready to face any dire situation by keeping the Covid special wards available. (Maxim News)
