Telangana Students Stranded In Manipur Return Home Safely

Hyderabad, 08 May: 72 students from Telangana who were stranded in Manipur arrived in a special flight from Manipur at Shamshabad Airport today. Labour Minister C.H. Malla Reddy, Rajendra Nagar MLA Prakash Goud, Additional DG Mahesh Bhagwat, Abhilasha Bist, DIG B. Sumathi, Rangareddy District Collector Harish, Director of Protocol Arvinder Singh and other officials welcomed. They expressed gratitude to Telangana Chief Minister KCR for bringing them safely from Manipur.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has ordered the officials to bring back Telangana students safely to State. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and Director General of Police Anjani Kumar consulted with Manipur authorities from time to time and arranged special flights to airlift Telangana students from Manipur state. The state government has also made arrangements to send the students to their native places.

The flight carrying 72 students reached Shamshabad airport at 1.22 pm from Imphal, Manipur today. The rest of the 130 students will reach Hyderabad by flight tonight and tomorrow morning. Another flight from Imphal will reach Shamshabad airport around midnight. The remaining students will arrive in Hyderabad on different flights coming via Raipur, Patna and Bhubaneswar.

Student’s Response :

We are very worried when we witnessed the situation there… PL Rao said that he is indebted to Chief Minister KCR who brought us safely to Hyderabad. A student from Suryapet named CH Spoorti said that in all 26 girl students have come from Manipur NIT. She said that she has spoken to MLC Kavitha through the State electronic department. Kavitha gave us courage… helped us.

Sai Kiran from Ghatkesar said that Thanks to Chief Minister KCR, IT Minister KTR, CS Santhi Kumari, and DGP Anjani Kumar who responded immediately. Students from different parts of the state arrived on this special flight. PL Rao, who was working in a highway company as a construction worker in Manipur and Nagaland states, along with his wife Amita came on this special flight.
