Governor Inaugurated A Blood Donation Camp At Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad, June 14 (Maxim News):  On the occasion of Blood Donor Day, a Blood Donation Camp was organized at Raj Bhavan Community Hall under the auspices of Raj Bhavan.  Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundara Rajan was the Chief guest and inaugurated the blood donation camp.  

Officials of the Red Cross Society, many celebrities, and blood donors participated in the blood donation camp.  The Governor released the annual activity report related to the Red Cross Society.  Later, the Governor said, he also thanked those who donated blood.  The Governor said that many newly married couples, college students, medical students, and birthday celebrations come and donate blood. 

The Governor said that if one person donates blood, it is useful for three people.  She said that in India, one person needs blood every 2 seconds.  People want to increase awareness about blood donation.  She appreciated that the Red Cross Society services are good, they are setting up blood donation campaigns and protecting thalassemia patients.  

She said that many relatives come to see in emergency times, but they don’t come to donate blood.  They said that if 300 ml of blood is given, it will be produced in the body in 10 to 15 days.   She asked to donate blood to save lives.  She said that accidents are increasing and the blood donated by them is useful for those who are in emergency situations.  

Governor stated that the Red Cross Society has collected 51 thousand units of blood as part of Blood Donor Day.  many celebrities and blood donors participated in the blood donation camp.  People are coming forward to donate blood as part of the blood donation camp.  Governor will present awards to those who donate blood more times.  As part of Blood Donor Day, Tata Consultancy Service had 4500 units, SBI staff had 1560 units, and Osmania University 1260 units donated blood from various sectors.
