Roads Waterlogged, Heavy Rains For More 7 Days In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Several roads in Hyderabad were inundated after heavy rain lashed the city on Sunday night. The city is expected to see generally cloudy sky with moderate rain on Monday, as per a sevenday forecast issued by regional Met Centre.

Flooding was seen in Nanakramguda Financial District roads, commuters were also seen driving through ankledeep water on road near Sumadhura Acropolis.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a yellow alert for Telangana as it is likely to receive heavy rainfall on Monday. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to be around 31 degrees while the minimum temperature may hover around 22-23 degrees Celsius.

Weather in Hyderabad for next 7 days

The weather in the city is likely to remain cool over the next few days as rain activity with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers is expected to continue till end of this month.

Hyderabadis woke up to cloudy weather and a cool breeze on Saturday, June 24, morning. However, the weather turned humid by evening. Before than rain lashed the city on Wednesday as well.

After the highest temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius recorded in Telangana and 40.3 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad in the past few days, the delayed monsoons are expected to provide much-needed relief from the scorching summer heat.

Monsoon in Telangana

IMD, on Thursday, officially announced the onset of monsoon in Telangana. According to meteorologists the monsoon winds covered parts of south and east Telangana (up to Khammam) and were expected to move towards central Telangana districts like Hyderabad and Medak by Saturday or Sunday.

The advancement of monsoon was announced after heavy rains lashed various parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad, on Wednesday night. While the city recorded a rainfall of 7mm, districts such as Rangareddy and Nalgonda got more than 90mm of rain.
