The 7th GHMC Council Meeting Was Held Peacefully Under Chairmanship Of Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi

Hyderabad, August 23: The 7th general meeting of GHMC was held peacefully on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi. First, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi addressed the members and said… The Mayor asked the members to provide full assistance so that this council meeting would be a meaningful discussion and the officials would answer.

He asked the council to pay attention to people’s problems without expecting political benefits. Honorary members are requested to utilize their valuable time for the people. He said that development and welfare schemes will be implemented in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR. He said that the schemes being implemented by the state government for the social and economic growth of the poor and weaker sections are reaching the limit. It has been informed that it has become an example of a state that implements innovative and great schemes like nowhere else in the country. The mayor said that under the guidance of Minister of Municipal, Urban Development and IT Department KTR, they are working hard to create better infrastructure in the city.

In this meeting, while the link and missing roads were discussed, the Congress corporators asked to make the sanitation workers permanent. With that, the mayor asked the members of the party to talk about this matter one by one. BJP corporator Vanga Madhusudhan Reddy, former deputy mayor Baba Fasiuddin from TRS and Salim Baig from MIM spoke. All parties advocated making sanitation workers permanent. The mayor asked the commissioner to speak on this matter that a positive decision will be taken regarding the permanent of sanitation workers from a humanitarian perspective, the commissioner said on this occasion… The commissioner explained that the government will take notice as discussed in the meeting.

ENC Zia Uddin said that 812 km long road has been taken up by CRMP in 7 packages, out of which 777.77 km road has been re-carpeted. Apart from that, 103 km long foot path has been constructed, he said.

Rahmat Nagar Corporator C. N. Reddy asked to explain the condition of SNDP works and the problems faced during rainy season and ENC Zia Uddin replied… SNDP program to prevent flood damage in the city at a cost of 985 crores. GHMC has taken up 57 works in its surrounding municipalities and within the scope of GHMC Rs. He said that out of 35 works with 734 crores, 25 works have been completed so far, 5 works will be completed soon, while the rest of the works have been delayed due to various problems. He said that as a result of the works undertaken by SNDP during this rainy season, 150 colonies were not flooded and 6,50,000 people were benefited.

On this occasion, MLC Rahmat Baig said… SNDP works in Old Basti are running slowly, they should be completed immediately without causing any problems to the people, engineering project department has sanctioned works worth 2000 crores, no funds or such works have started, the works sanctioned by the project He asked to grant funds through SNDP and free the old basti residents from flood.

He demanded immediate compensation for those who lost their homes in the Nala expansion programme. The people of Champapet, Gaddi Annaram, Sankaramma Garden are facing problems due to the flood coming from above. He asked for a solution. Congress corporator Rajasekhar Reddy said that the road has been damaged due to the construction of box drain with a width of 3 to 4 meters, and the road should be repaired immediately.

In response to a question asked by Pathar Gatti Corporator Sohail Qadri about the beautification of the Charminar tourist area in the old basti and the installation of modern electric lights, the Commissioner said that proposals have been sent to the government through the Kuli Qutub Shah Development Authority and the work will be started as soon as they are received.

Mallapur Corporator Pannala Devender Reddy said that class-5 contractors have been charged only up to 50 lakhs with a limit of up to 50 lakhs for those participating in the tender, and there is a need to encourage new contractors and said that the works undertaken in the wards are not being completed quickly despite the funds.

Answering the questions asked by the members on de-silting, ENC Zia Uddin said that an app has been made to know the day of de-silting, and the officials will post the work done daily along with a photo, and said that de-silting is a continuous process. He said that de-silting is not done during monsoons and the de-silting process continues only when the flow of water decreases. Apart from that, the waste from de-silting will be moved to Jawahar Nagar dump yard, he said.

Speaking on street light, the mayor said that several times with the members of the Commissioner’s Standing Committee to improve the street lights, a review was done with the representatives of the ESL organization. Some members asked whether the polls would take six months and would be arranged by the GHMC or the state electricity. Apart from that, many corporators brought to the attention of the meeting that they do not know who will take steps to remove the branches of trees under the street lights. Commissioner Ronald Rose said that besides improving the street lights, a pin point program has been set up and the officers under the corporator will visit the areas and take action. He said that till now 5,31,450 street lights are missing and there are 32,026 CMS. He said that steps are being taken to conduct the exam at the micro level. He said that 6.50 crores fine has been imposed on the ESL company so far as steps are being taken to replace the street lights.

The protocol was discussed in this meeting. The MLAs are inaugurating the development works, foundation stones and inaugurations without calling the corporators, especially when the Metro Water Works works are being undertaken, Mayor said on this matter, the officials are responsible to inform the corporators for the works being undertaken within the ward, and during the works related to other departments, the GHMC He said to coordinate with the authorities. He said that he will personally talk to the concerned legislators to call the corporators for the foundation stone laying and inauguration ceremonies. On this occasion, Commissioner Ronald Rose said that we will take all possible measures to follow the protocol and we will talk to the MD of Metro Water Works and take an appropriate decision.

When the corporators asked to take steps to form monsoon emergency teams not only during the rainy season but throughout the year, Commissioner Ronald Rose said on this matter… 455 monsoon emergency teams, 242 statistical, 157 mobile, 27 DRF, 28 CR. He said that MP teams have been formed and 2,011 people are working in them. He explained that DRF and CRMF teams are working in the non-monsoon season. MIM’s female corporator alleged that there are old people in this monsoon team, they are not able to do any work and the labor required for the monsoon team is not coming.

MIM corporator Mustafa Baig alleged that the zonal authorities are not taking appropriate action despite the earlier decision to immediately replace the dead sanitation worker. Commissioner Ronald Rose said on this matter… There are 846 people who have not come to work for more than 60 days. He said that 278 people have been appointed in their place so far and steps will be taken to replace the rest immediately.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi intervened and said that the Ward Offices which have not been started will be opened soon after Goshamahal Corporator questioned that the space has been allocated for the establishment of Ward Office.

After Maulali Corporator Sunitha accused that there is a problem of dogs in the city and children and adults are getting scared, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said that a high level committee has been formed with members of all parties on this matter and the instructions given by them are being implemented from time to time. During this meeting, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi adjourned the meeting after approving many items in agenda number 12.
