Rajasthan Shocker: Woman Stripped Naked, Paraded; Husband Arrested; CM Gehlot Reacts As Video Goes Viral

Jaipur: A video related to the incident of a 21-year-old tribal woman in Rajasthan being stripped naked by her husband and relatives and dragged on the street has caused a shock.

While many leaders including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje have condemned the incident, three people including the husband involved in the brutality have been arrested.

Here is What Happened?

The incident took place in Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan. Police DGP Umesh Misra said, “It is said that the concerned woman had left her husband and was living with someone else. The enraged husband’s family abducted the woman and brought her to their village of Thariwad. Then they stripped her naked in front of the villagers and dragged her in a procession. They beat and tortured the woman.” said. After the video of the incident went viral, the police registered a case and took action.

District Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar said that 3 people including the woman’s husband have been arrested in connection with this incident. Special forces were formed to nab the criminals. The accused were arrested when they ran away from the police. Police said they were hospitalized for their injuries.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had earlier posted on his social media page, “Such criminal offenses have no place in a civilized society. I have directed the DGP to take strict action against the persons involved.” Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has said that this incident has made the state of Rajasthan bow its head. He also accused the state government of being lax in preventing crimes against women.
