ED Notices To Minister Gangula Kamalakar

Hyderabad, Sept 5 (Maxim News): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has given a shock to Gangula Kamalakar, Minister in the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao government, ED issued notices to Gangula’s family members for violation of FEMA 9 (Foreign Exchange Management Act). The Enforcement Directorate issued show cause notices to Shweta Granites and Shweta Agencies.

ED officials found irregularities in exporting granite material to China by white granite companies. In the notice issued by the ED. It was also mentioned that the evidence of transportation of cash through hawala has been collected. Regarding money transactions, it has been said that Rs. 50 crores have been received but showing Rs. 3 crores.

In November 2022, ED and Income Tax (IT) department officials conducted searches for three days on granite companies in Baopet, KJothapalli mandal, Karimnagar district.  The ED also conducted inspections at the house of Gangula Kamalakar, which is the official address of Shweta Granites. White Granite Companies, White Agencies.  The officials have advised the concerned authorities to collect penalties and seigniorage as per the AP MMC Act 1996.

Minister Gangula Kamalakar responded to the ED notices, saying that he had no information about ED notices.  He said that his family’s Shweta Granite and Shweta Agency have been doing business for 30 years.  ED officials and IT department officials said that they are ready to answer whatever they ask.  All the documents have already been submitted.  Again they asked how many documents they would give.  He said that this is an issue that has been going on since 2008.  Now it is nothing new.  Many people are angry that they are doing bad propaganda to build Rs. 750 crores.  They disclosed that they did not market through hawala.  He said granite was not sent abroad illegally.
