Robber Nabbed Targeting Elderly Women with Gold Ear Studs

Hyderabad, April 30: (Maxim News): The Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone, along with OU City police, apprehended a robber named Orsu Giri who targeted elderly women for their gold ear studs.

Acting on credible information, the police recovered a pair of stolen ear studs weighing approximately 10 grams, valued at Rs. 70,000, from Giri’s possession.

Accused Orsu Giri, Age: 38, Occupation: Labour, Residence: Manikeshwar Nagar, OU City, Hyderabad.

Giri, a resident of Manikeshwar Nagar, frequented a Toddy Compound in Lalapet. On April 27th, he met a 65-year-old woman at the compound and convinced her to accompany him to Adikmet for better quality toddy.

While walking towards Adikmet, Giri took advantage of an isolated area and forcefully robbed the woman of her ear studs, causing injuries to her ear. He then fled the scene. The victim was later found by a passerby who alerted the OU City police.

A case (Cr.No 204/2024, U/s 392 IPC) was registered, and an investigation commenced.

On April 29th, the Task Force and OU City police apprehended Giri in Manikeshwar Nagar as he attempted to sell the stolen ear studs. He has a previous criminal record with Cr. No: 638/2012, U/s 324 IPC registered against him at Alwal PS.

The accused and the recovered property have been handed over to the OU City police station for further action.

The successful arrest was conducted under the supervision of  Ande Srinivasa Rao, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, and involved the coordinated efforts of the East Zone Task Force led by Inspector A. Nagarjuna, Sub-Inspectors P. Ananth Chary and S. Karunakar Reddy, along with the OU City police team. (Maxim News)
