IMD Hyderabad Forecasts Rain On June 1

Hyderabad: India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has predicted rainfall in all six zones of the city on June 1. This comes as a relief to residents enduring the intense summer heat, signaling the onset of the rainy season.

Expected Weather Conditions

According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers are likely to occur, accompanied by a cloudy sky. The temperature on Friday is expected to drop to 36 degrees Celsius, a significant decrease from the forecasted range of 41 to 44 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Rainfall Patterns and Forecast

The rainy season in Hyderabad typically spans from mid-June to October. Last year, the southwest monsoon brought cumulative rainfall of 769.5 mm to the city, surpassing the normal 615.4 mm. While Hyderabad experienced overall excess rainfall, some areas recorded rainfall closer to the average.

Deviation in Various Mandals

Several mandals in Hyderabad, including Shaikpet, Maredpally, Charminar, Asifnagar, Nampally, Khairatabad, Secunderabad, and Tirumalgiri, reported rainfall deviations higher than the city’s average during the last monsoon season.

Relief from Summer Heat

As Hyderabad braces for the monsoon, residents can look forward to relief from the summer heat. The anticipated rainfall and subsequent decline in temperatures are expected to provide much-needed respite from the high temperatures experienced recently.
