Hyderabad, Sept. 5: Habeeb Nagar police arrested a 20 year old painter for allegedly breaking into a water plant office and stealing cash.
Police identified the accused as Md Sarfaraz. They recovered Rs 90,000 from his possession and produced him before a court.

According to police, Sarfaraz had worked at the MAK Aqua Water Plant for about three years. He was familiar with the office and knew about the cash kept there.
On August 28, plant owner Mohd Rayees Khan kept Rs 95,000 in a table drawer. He then locked the office and left to attend a family function.
Khan did not open the office for two days. On August 31, he found the door, table drawer and wooden almirah locks broken.
He also found that the cash was missing. Following his complaint, Habeeb Nagar police registered a case and began an investigation.
Police examined CCTV footage and conducted local enquiries during the probe. They later confirmed Sarfaraz’s alleged involvement and traced him to Nampally.
Police apprehended Sarfaraz on Friday. During questioning, he allegedly admitted to the offence and told police that he used an angle grinder to break the locks.
The police recovered Rs 90,000 from him. The accused was arrested and produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
