Food Safety Violations Exposed in Tomato Sauce Factories in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 13 (Maxim News): In a recent series of inspections conducted by the Telangana Food Safety Commissioner Task Force on June 10, 2024, concerning tomato sauce manufacturing units situated in the Nacharam and Jeedimetla regions of Hyderabad, significant violations were unearthed.

Critical breaches of safety protocols were detected, notably the absence of Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers and insufficient pest control measures within the facilities.

During the scrutiny of Sri Jyothi Food Industries in Nacharam, a glaring lapse in safety protocols was identified. The establishment lacked the requisite Medical Fitness Certificates for its food handlers, a crucial standard aimed at ensuring the health and non-transmissibility of any communicable diseases among employees handling food items.

Similarly, at Agarwal Food Products in Jeedimetla, inspectors encountered analogous deficiencies. The company was also found to be deficient in Medical Fitness Certificates for its food handlers. Furthermore, the premises were devoid of insect-proof screens, an essential measure to thwart the ingress of pests and maintain a hygienic milieu conducive to food production. (Maxim News)
