MLAs Who Left BRS Must Be Disqualified: KTR

Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 5 (Maxim News): BRS Working President and former Minister K.Tarak Rama Rao said that MLAs who left BRS should be disqualifiedBRS will fight a legal battle in Delhi against party defections of MLAs.

A group of senior representatives of the BRS party had a meeting with constitutional experts.  KTR said that he will soon file a case in the Supreme Court on behalf of the party. KTR warned that constitutional experts will clarify the issue of disqualification and defecting leaders within a month through the court verdict and that by-elections are inevitable in Telangana.  

Meanwhile, BRS has intensified its efforts to take legal action regarding the disqualification of MLAs who have changed parties. To this extent, a group of senior leaders under the leadership of party-working President KTR held talks with several prominent lawyers in Delhi.  A delegation of the party also held a meeting with constitutional experts.

On the other hand, constitutional expert Chelpet Aryama Sundaram told the party team that the Supreme Court has already given several judgments regarding party defections, including MLA.  He made it clear that the Speaker will not be able to deal with the issue of disqualification without deciding for a long time like in the past. On this occasion, along with the petition filed in the High Court regarding the disqualification of the three MLAs the BRS leaders presented the complaint to the Speaker against the MLAs who had changed parties and the related documents to the legal experts.  

Legal experts said that as the guidelines of the Supreme Court are clear in this matter, the High Court is not likely to postpone it for a long time.  He said that if the decision of the High Court is not announced soon, there is a possibility of going to the Supreme Court.

KTR said that he will continue the legal battle according to the advice and suggestions given by the experts on the Supreme Court along with legal precedents and the constitution.  He said that he will approach the Supreme Court soon. 

KTR expressed confidence that the matter of disqualification of the MLAs who changed parties will be resolved within a month by the High Court or the Supreme Court.  He sa9id that by-elections are inevitable in Telangana state.  MLAs who have changed parties will be informed in the public sector.  On the one hand, KTR criticized the party defections at the national level and accused the Congress party of encouraging defections to damage the spirit of the constitution in Telangana state.  Congress will soon be taught a proper lesson with the help of the Courts.

Party leaders including former minister Harish Rao, Jagdish Reddy, Gangula Kamalakar, Rajya Sabha members Vaddiraju Ravichandra, former MP and current MLA Kota Prabhakar Reddy participated in the meeting with constitutional experts and legal experts. (Maxim News)
