To this extent, Municipal Administration Department Chief Secretary Dana Kishore issued an order on Saturday. Metro Water Board MD Ashok Reddy revealed that the decision to implement OTS has been taken given the increasing burden of arrears on the water board.
He said that he wrote a letter to the government on September 19. The state government also permitted this. It is stated that the Water Board has implemented such one-time settlements twice in the past as well.

This OTS is applicable only to those who have a water tap connection. Officials say that they have to pay the due amount at once. This benefit will not apply to those whose tap connection was disconnected. If those without connections want to avail the benefit of OTS, they have to write an affidavit that they will pay the bills 24 months in the future. If the bill is not paid, it is made clear that the benefit they got under OTS will be canceled.
Consumers should go to the authorities depending on the arrears of black bills. If it is upto Rs. 2 thousand, it should go to the manager, if it is between Rs. 2001 to Rs. 10 thousand, it should go to the deputy GM, and if it is between Rs. 10,001 and above, it should go to the general manager. If it is more than Rs. 1 lakh the consumer has to meet the GM. (Maxim News)
