Operation Sindoor: 9 Pakistani Fighter Jets Shot Down
New Delhi/Hyderabad, June 4 (Maxim News): In a powerful retaliatory move following the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, resulting in significant strategic and aerial losses for Pakistan. According to reliable defence sources, nine Pakistani Air Force fighter jets were shot down during the operation, alongside the destruction of two high-value surveillance aircraft, ten armed drones, and a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
Operation Sindoor was reportedly executed with precision air strikes targeting locations in Punjab province and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Defence officials confirmed the successful strikes using radar tracking and thermal imaging, indicating a complete radar blackout of Pakistani aircraft after impact.
A major highlight of the mission was the downing of a Swedish Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system, stationed at the Bolari Airbase. This high-value asset was neutralized using an advanced air-to-surface cruise missile, with satellite imagery confirming the destruction of the aircraft hangar it was housed in.
Another strategic blow came with the elimination of a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, which was reportedly operating in Multan. The aircraft was hit during a targeted drone strike, halting critical logistical support operations.
Additionally, ten Chinese-origin Wing Loong series drones—used for reconnaissance and combat—were destroyed mid-air by Indian Air Force Rafale and Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jets. Sources reveal that these UCAVs (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles) were likely taken out in a single coordinated strike.
Pakistan, in response, launched Operation Buyan-U-Marsoos, but it reportedly backfired, revealing greater losses than anticipated—especially in seven key regions including Peshawar, Jhang, Hyderabad (Sindh), Gujarat, Bahawalnagar, Attock, and Chor.
Military analysts suggest that the precision and technological superiority demonstrated in Operation Sindoor underscores India’s robust surveillance and missile strike capability. The operation has been hailed as one of the most effective retaliatory campaigns in recent history, reaffirming India’s stance on cross-border terrorism.
As the situation continues to develop, diplomatic channels remain on high alert, while both militaries brace for possible escalations.
