Lagacharla Violence | Harassment On STs Will Not Be Tolerated: National SC And ST Commission Warns

Hyderabad, Nov 18 (Maxim News): Keeping in view that there was an attack on the Collector and Officials who went to take the public opinion for the acquisition of land by a pharma company in Lagacharla in Vikarabad district. The police have already arrested many of those involved in this incident.

However, the National ST Commission visited Lagacharla on Monday to find out the developments related to this land acquisition. Commission members spoke to the victims at Rotibanda Tanda.

After the attack on the Collector and officials, he inquired about how the police treated the tribals. However, the victims complained that the police resorted to anarchy in the middle of the night. The members of the ST Commission expressed their anger against the police and Kodangal government officials. Called Vikarabad SP and spoke. They concluded that they would not tolerate the harassment of the tribals by the police.

Meanwhile, the tribals of Lagacharla and Rotibanda Tanda villages went to Delhi on Sunday to complain to the National SC and ST Commission that the state government is forcibly acquiring their land for a pharma company. They have already complained to the State SC and ST Commission ChairmanFormer Minister Satyavati Rathod and BRS leaders were also present with them.

On the other hand, the police arrested four more people in the attack on officers in Lagacharla on Saturday night. The accused were shifted to Sangareddy Jail.  First, they were brought to Kodangal Police Station at 10.30 pm and produced before First Class Judge Sriram at 12.45 midnight. After the judge remanded the accused for 14 days. Madaraiah, Basappa, Gopal and Neereti Raghavender were taken to Sangareddy Jail.
