Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Aimed To Achieve Clean, Hygienic And Plastic Free Campuses

Hyderabad, Dec 1 (Maxim News):  Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, launched by the Government of India, is a nationwide campaign aimed at achieving a clean, hygienic, and plastic-free India. It is not just about cleanliness but also about building awareness around the importance of sanitation, waste management, and environmental sustainability. Recently, the Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University, Prof. Kumar Molugaram, highlighted the need for a cleaner and greener campus during a meeting with college principals.

He emphasized that cleanliness should be ingrained as a fundamental value and called upon the principals to initiate the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Clean & Green Programme in their respective colleges. He further urged that the campuses be made free of plastic, stressing the role of students in spreading awareness and ensuring the cleanliness and sustainability of the environment on campus. In line with this directive, the University College of Commerce and Business Management (UCC&BM), Osmania University, took the lead by organizing the first Swachh Bharat Programme on its premises today. 

The Vice-Chancellor lauded the efforts of Prof. Indrakanti Sekhar, Principal of UCC&BM, for his initiative and encouraged other colleges to follow suit in organizing similar programs.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Prof. Indrakanti Sekhar, Principal,  Dr. V. Samunnatha, Vice-Principal,  Sr. Prof. D. Sreeramulu, Dean, Faculty of Business Management  Prof. K. Krishna Chaithanya, Dean, Faculty of Commerce,  Prof. M. Gangadhar, Head, Department of Commerce,  Prof. Y. Jahangir, Head, Department of Business Management,  Prof. V. Sudha,  Prof. A. Patrick, Public Relations Officer, Prof. Smitha Sambrani  AR Balakrishna In addition, several teaching and non-teaching staff members, along with students, participated in the event. (Maxim News)
