Heavy Traffic on Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway as City Dwellers Head Home for Sankranthi

Hyderabad, Jan 11 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad -Vijayawada National Highway was congested on Saturday morning with commuters heading home for Sankranthi.  There was a huge traffic jam at Abdulapurmet ORR.  Vehicles were moving slowly from Abdulapurmet to Kothagudem.

Vehicles were queued up at the Pantangi Toll Plaza in Choutuppal.  The staff is sending those going towards AP through 10 toll booths. Those coming towards Hyderabad are being sent through 6 gates.

Traffic jams have occurred at the Choutuppal junction due to underpass construction work.  The congestion is expected to increase further today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday). In view of the congestion, the police are suggesting alternative routes. On the other hand, MGBS, JBS, Dilsukh Nagar bus stands and LB Nagar junction have become crowded with passengers.

There is congestion at the Keesara Toll Plaza in the NTR district of Andhra Pradesh. Due to this, vehicles going towards Vijayawada. The congestion has increased due to the construction of the bridge and the construction of the associated service road.  (Maxim News)
