Will Saif Ali Khan’s Assets Worth Rs. 15,000 Crores Be Seized? Check Details Here
Hyderabad, Jan 22 (Maxim News): Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is in shock. The government is likely to seize assets worth Rs. 15 thousand crore belonging to the Pataudi family. The reason for this is that the Madhya Pradesh High Court has lifted the stay on the assets of the Pataudi family. The assets will be seized under the Enemy Property Act, of 1968.

According to this act, the government can seize the assets of people who have migrated to Pakistan. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered the appellate authority to present its arguments on December 13, 2024, as part of a single bench hearing. The Pataudi family did not appear even though the deadline expired on January 21, 2025. This means that the court is likely to issue orders to seize Pataudi’s properties.
Mumbai’s Enemy Property Custodian office declared the land belonging to the nawab of Bhopal as government property in 2015. The Pataudi family approached the court over this. In this case, Saif Ali Khan, mother Sharmila Tagore, sisters Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan, along with Mansoor Ali Khan’s sister Sabiha Sultan, appeared in the Pataudi family.

They argued that the land in Bhopal and Reizen, as well as properties like Noor-e-Sabha, Flag House, Dar es Salaam, Fars Khana, koheiza, Ahmedabad palace, etc, belong to their family.
In 1947, Bhopal was a princely state. Mansur Ali Khan’s great-grandfather, Hamidullah Khan, was the last Nawab. Nawab Hamidullah Khan’s eldest daughter, Abida Sultan, migrated to Pakistan in 1950.

The second daughter, Sajida Sultan, remained in India and married Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi. Their grandson is Saif Ali Khan.
However, the court recognized Sajida Sultan as the heir of these properties and Saif Ali Khan as her heir in 2019. However since Abida Sultan migrated to Pakistan, the organizations are saying that they should be considered government assets. They are arguing that they are the heirs of those properties too and that the government should not take possession of them. With the recent lifting of the court stay, there are chances that the government will take possession. (Maxim News)
