Telangana To Witness A Double Whammy Of Severe Heat And Thunderstorms

Hyderabad, April 10 (Maxim News): In contrasting weather conditions, almost all the major districts of Telangana state including Hyderabad will continue to experience severe heat and at the same time, there will be districts, which will experience thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds.

While Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts might experience thunderstorms and gusty winds at isolated places, there are several other districts that will witness intense heat, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad forecast has indicated.

The IMD-Hyderabad, has issued an orange alert of intense heat and significant rise in temperatures for several districts till Sunday. April 13. At the same time, it has also issued an orange alert for intense spells of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40 to 50 kmph) for today (Thursday) and Friday.

While temperatures in Hyderabad will hover between 36 degree C and 40 degree Celsius, the temperatures in several districts including Adilabad, Kothagudem, Hanumakonda, jagtial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Jogulamba Gadwal, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mahabubnagar, mancherial, Medak, mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Narayanpet, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla etc. will experience intense heat between 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius, IMD Hyderabad said.

At the same time, IMD-Hyderabad has issued an orange (high intensity) alert of thunderstorms accompanied with Lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places in Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy and Mahabubnagar districts of Telangana.
