Hyderabad: Madhapur police, along with the Kukatpally Special Operations Team, busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from a service apartment in Ayyappa Society and arrested the alleged organiser and four male customers.
Acting on reliable information, the police raided Flat No. 501 of White Castle Service Apartments on 100 Feet Road in Ayyappa Society, Madhapur.
During the raid, police arrested Burle Dhananjaya, identified as the alleged organiser, along with four male customers. They also rescued four women from the apartment and shifted them to a rescue home in Kukatpally.
According to police, Dhananjaya had been taking service apartments on daily rent and allegedly bringing women to the premises and arranging customers for prostitution.
Police seized four mobile phones and ₹1,48,970 in cash from the alleged organiser during the operation. A local report identified the organiser as Burley Dhananjaya, 55, and said two Samsung mobile phones were among the seized items.
Police Register Case, Investigation Underway
Madhapur police have registered a case in connection with the alleged activities and launched an investigation.
Police are examining how the service apartment was being rented and whether others were involved in arranging customers or facilitating the alleged racket.
The four women rescued during the raid have been shifted to a rescue facility as part of the police response.
Telangana Police’s Women Safety Wing has an Anti-Human Trafficking Unit mechanism that covers cases involving commercial sexual exploitation, prostitution and alleged sex rackets. Its stated responsibilities include rescue, investigation, prosecution and rehabilitation of victims.
